What has changed in the Amazon VINE program for retailers?

The product reviews written about VINE will now be summarized on the higher-level Asin.

What exactly does this change mean?

If a product has several variants or several ASINs, e.g. 500ml, 1L and 5L and these are later combined to form a higher-level variant or asin, then Amazon will no longer incorporate all reviews into the new variant, but only a limited number. The rest of the reviews created are no longer shown to the customer.

We will show two examples below:

Depending on the level at which a product is registered for VINE, only a certain number of reviews may be retained, even after an asin has been merged:

Most expensive level: 11-30 units -> 30 vine reviews maximum

Intermediate level -> 3 - 10 units -> 10 Vine reviews maximum

Free level -> 3 - 10 units -> 2 Vine reviews maximum

Example 1:

Most expensive level (30 reviews max)

You register two asins with Amazon Vine, each in the most expensive level (this costs 170€)

Both asins get 30 reviews each

If you combine the two asins in one variant later, only 30 reviews remain, not 60.

The maximum number of VINE reviews is 30, no matter how many have been collected before!

Example 2:

Intermediate+free level

ASIN 1: Intermediate level (costs 70€) → gets 15 reviews

ASIN 2: Free level → gets 5 reviews

If both asins are later combined into one variant, only 15 reviews remain.

This includes the Asin who has previously collected the highest number of reviews, up to a maximum of 30 reviews.

Our tip:

Create a variant of the articles directly and collect the reviews on this so that none are lost later.

So what has changed?

In the past, by merging variants, you could collect and retain more reviews, i.e. more than 30.

An upper limit is now set per parent Asin.
